SW Fan Days
Star Wars Fan Days was held Oct 20-21, 2007
The trip started off Friday night at Madness Comics in Plano for STAR WARS MADNESS. I must add, Madness Comics, for it’s size, is one of the best comic book shops I’ve ever been in. Very well stocked and it’s not cluttered with so much crap to where it’s hard to move around and check stuff out.
This little event was put together with my friends at Galactic Productions and the fine folks at Madness Comics. The guest list included Daniel Logan (Young Boba Fett), Femi Taylor (Oola) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).
Daniel Logan and myself… Daniel is a true kid at heart. He loves getting out and meeting the fans. By far one of the best celebs. I have ever met. He’s great with kids too.

Femi Taylor and myself… Femi is a sweetheart. I had a chance to talk with her for a bit over the weekend and found out that she is currently in school to become an interior designer.

The stars, members of Galactic Productions, and the folks of Madness Comics…. sorry Bobby, Femi was blocking you from this angle.

This is the special Yak’s Pub print I made for the evening. Obviously I got it signed.

The lovely Drusilla, she was in charge of pictures… but I don’t think she knew how to use the camera.

Saturday and Sunday… Star Wars Fan Days
The Hasbro booth. It was a small set up but they had some good looking stuff. I’m pretty sure most of this has been seen on other sites before and from other conventions so I didn’t go over board on shooting. Plus I didn’t have my good camera with me so that’s why the pics are not up to my usual standards.

MIGHTY MUGS! I love these things

Yea… I got to play with the toys… and I took the time to play with most of them.

For those who don’t know, this is Derryl DePriest. He is the head man as far as the Star Wars toy line at Hasbro is concerned.

I got to speak with Derryl for a good bit of time on Saturday and I must say, this guy is a true Star Wars collector at heart. I have always been one of Hasbro’s biggest critics but meeting him really put a human face to the company. It is very reassuring to know that a guy who is very much like myself is in charge and not some three piece suite wearing business man that knows nothing about Star Wars. Derryl is a collector… in fact we bumped into each other on the dealers floor both looking to fill holes in our collections. When we were talking you could see the dedication in his eyes for the line. He has some of the same wants and desires for Star Wars toys that we all do, except he also has to deal with the reality of what they can pull off for a certain price. Speaking of prices, as in figure prices. Some one asked why SW figures cost more than GI Joe… his answer was basically getting in the Lucas Film cut. Both figures can be produced for the same amount then you have to tack on the royalties… bottom line. It makes me confident in the toy line and the direction it’s going with him at the helm. He mentioned that he’s been there for 7 years… look back and take in the changes that have come about over that time.
Steven Sansweet… this guy is always fun to meet.

Tim Rose… Admiral “it’s a trap!” Ackbar

Paul Weston… Nikto

Anthony Forrest…. Stormtrooper – “these aren’t the droids we’re looking for”

Barry Holland… Lt. Renz – “You rebel scum!”

Ken Tarleton… Elvis Trooper

Sansweet inspecting the troops.

Sansweet speaking at the Fan Club Breakfast

Derryl DePriest speaking at the Fan Club Breakfast and showing off the new Evolution set featuring Mandalore, Jango Fett, and Boba Fett. Man this set is going to rock! The Jango and Boba are all new sculpts with super articulation. I got to play with all of them and could hardly put’em down. No close-up photography was allowed because one of the toy magazines will be doing a cover story on them soon.

Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) vs. David Prowse (Darth Vader)… Bulloch won!

Zach and Bobby from Galactic Productions… yea, that’s Daniel Logan in the back ground making the bunny ears.

Me and Bobby telling it like it is.

What happens when Drussila uses my camera.

Let’s see… there were so many other things that went on over the weekend that I’m still trying to process it all.
It was a great time of hanging with the stars and getting together with my friends. Zach, Bobby and Drussila… you guys are the greatest and I can’t wait till the next adventure!
In the next couple of days, I’ll get a hold of some pics taken by others and have some links to even more.

looks like you had alot of fun
thanks for sharing these pics with us
Thanks for your information about the fan days, particularly about Derryl DePriest and The Fett Legacy. Can you give any further information about the ESB Boba Fett in this? Whether they’ve fixed up his height and whether the helmet covers his face properly (unlike the Mandalorian packs whether their chins or necks are exposed)?
