A great big welcome to new and long time readers….

After nearly three and a half years, 859 strips, 12 Weekend Specials, countless hours, and spending more money then I’ll ever admit to… I’ve decided to take a break from Yak’s Pub.

The entire collection of Daily Strips, Specials, and Galleries are still available for browsing for your enjoyment.  Simply use the navigation above and to the right.  I have set the strips to post in groups of 25 so that an entire month’s worth of selections can be viewed per page.

Please sign up for the Email Update located at the right or subscribe to the RSS feed to receive notifications.  Who knows… I might even slip in a new strip every now and then.

Thanks to all of you for reading day after day!  I think I’ve said it before, but if it wasn’t for you… Yak’s Pub would still only be fifteen comics long and still on a forums board.  It’s with great reluctance that I step aside for a while but there are other projects that need my attention along with some matters in my personal life that require more of my time.

  1. As long as this is just a vacation and not a retirement, I think we can all live with that. You probably also need time to re-charge your creative batteries.

    Go do what you gotta do. Come back when you’re ready.

  4. Awwww I loved coming every day to see the zany adventure in the pub… I hope to see the pub reopen soon 🙂 Good luck in your activities. just take a good break.. we all need breaks sometimes.. Look forward to when you reopen the pub.

  9. just wanted to say thank you for all the good times; yakspub is the first sight i look at every morning and is better than any of the newspaper comic strips. enjoy your time off, but know we’ll all be waiting for your return 🙂

  11. Please do. A hobby should never become a burden. I sure have enjoyed it. As some other people have said, it is the first thing I do everyday at work but I mean that as a compliment and not an obligation to entertain me. I hope you will still come to All-Con table or no table and hang out with us. Maybe bring your new TK.

  16. Aww, I came across this site only 5 days ago, and now you’re going on break? I love the stuff here. I’ve read through all of the back dated strips, and they are hilarious. Hopefully it’s not forever, and just a break. I was so happy, now I am sad. :,-(

    I only found you a couple of months ago and I’ll miss the fantastic humor and fun here which has kept me hugely entertained, and I’ll look forward to your return!

  20. Thanks everyone, I can’t encourage you enough to sign up for the email subscription. You’ll get a confirmation email and then only something when I make a new post. It will be the best way to watch for the doors reopening. I can assure you that your addresses are safe and won’t be shared in any form or fashion.   23. I’ve always enjoyed your strips Niktom, reading the new Yak’s Pub was my favorite part of my morning routine. And while I’m just downtrodden that I won’t have any new ones to look forward too for a while (at least I can go back and start ’em all over again ^_^), I’ve always admired that generally, five days a week 52 weeks a year you had a new comic up for us. Thanks for all the laughs!

  24. I love the strip and will miss it while on hiatus. I’ve been very impressed with your ability to produce 5 strips a week for as long as you have. That is a lot of work. Good job.

    • Numerically close to 1000… yes. Comic strip close to 1000… well that’s debatable. With 141 strips to go, divide that by 5 and you get 28 weeks and 1 day. Dude, that’s like 7 more months. Hopefully one day we will hit 1000, I really hope so because I’ve got a great idea for #1002. We’ll see, and I do admire your view point.

  38. Sorry to see you go! But still good to know you won’t be gone for good, hopefully. Will be getting something out with Fun With Figs very soon. Plus still working on a new MAG, but still having problems with a story.
