A great big welcome to new and long time readers….
After nearly three and a half years, 859 strips, 12 Weekend Specials, countless hours, and spending more money then I’ll ever admit to… I’ve decided to take a break from Yak’s Pub.
The entire collection of Daily Strips, Specials, and Galleries are still available for browsing for your enjoyment. Simply use the navigation above and to the right. I have set the strips to post in groups of 25 so that an entire month’s worth of selections can be viewed per page.
I plan to get an update or two rolling in the next few weeks that should include the chance to purchase some 8×10 prints and Heimlich Maneuver posters that have previously only been available at conventions. Please sign up for the Email Update located at the right or subscribe to the RSS feed to receive notifications. Who knows… I might even slip in a new strip every now and then.
Thanks to all of you for reading day after day! I think I’ve said it before, but if it wasn’t for you… Yak’s Pub would still only be fifteen comics long and still on a forums board. It’s with great reluctance that I step aside for a while but there are other projects that need my attention along with some matters in my personal life that require more of my time.

I completely understand. Yak’s Pub will be missed, but you deserve a break.
I admit I am surprized, but don’t blame you either, it’s a hard pace to keep. Take solice in the fact that you will be missed and most of us cannot wait until the return.
Awwww I loved coming every day to see the zany adventure in the pub… I hope to see the pub reopen soon

Alas, I’ve been following you for along time…much like a cup of coffee, the day hasn’t started until I’ve had my dose of Yak’s Pub. I’ll have to find a new fix to jump start my mornings…until you return!

Please do. A hobby should never become a burden. I sure have enjoyed it. As some other people have said, it is the first thing I do everyday at work but I mean that as a compliment and not an obligation to entertain me. I hope you will still come to All-Con table or no table and hang out with us. Maybe bring your new TK.
Oh yea… I’ll be at All-Con and will more than likely have a booth with prints and posters. Can’t miss out on all that fun!

Aww, I came across this site only 5 days ago, and now you’re going on break? I love the stuff here. I’ve read through all of the back dated strips, and they are hilarious. Hopefully it’s not forever, and just a break. I was so happy, now I am sad. :,-(
So sad to see the pub temporarily close, but everyone needs a break and you certainly deserve it!
I only found you a couple of months ago and I’ll miss the fantastic humor and fun here which has kept me hugely entertained, and I’ll look forward to your return!

I’ve always enjoyed your strips Niktom, reading the new Yak’s Pub was my favorite part of my morning routine. And while I’m just downtrodden that I won’t have any new ones to look forward too for a while (at least I can go back and start ‘em all over again ^_^), I’ve always admired that generally, five days a week 52 weeks a year you had a new comic up for us. Thanks for all the laughs!
I love the strip and will miss it while on hiatus. I’ve been very impressed with your ability to produce 5 strips a week for as long as you have. That is a lot of work. Good job.
But you’re so close to 1,000.
Numerically close to 1000… yes. Comic strip close to 1000… well that’s debatable. With 141 strips to go, divide that by 5 and you get 28 weeks and 1 day. Dude, that’s like 7 more months. Hopefully one day we will hit 1000, I really hope so because I’ve got a great idea for #1002. We’ll see, and I do admire your view point.
